Lore is a service operated by ArtMill LLC. These are the terms you agree to by using it. They are short, and written to be read.
The arrangement
You may use Lore to keep a record of your own reading. There is nothing to pay at present. If that changes, existing accounts will be told well before it does, and nobody is charged without agreeing first.
Your account
You sign in with an email address, a Google account, or an Apple ID. You are responsible for the security of whichever you use — anyone who can sign in to that is able to reach your library. Tell us at once if you believe an account has been taken.
One person, one account. Do not sign up on someone else's behalf, and do not create accounts automatically.
What is yours
Your library is yours. ArtMill claims no ownership of what you save, file or write in Lore, and does not sell it, show it to other people using Lore, or use it to train models. Lore stores and displays it back to you, which is the whole of the permission you are granting.
What is not allowed
- Using Lore to break the law, or to collect data about other people without their knowledge.
- Attacking the service: overwhelming it, breaking into other accounts, or probing for ways to.
- Reselling access, or running Lore as the backend of another product.
- Automated bulk use that costs other people a working service.
Security research is welcome. If you find something, write to lore@artmill.dev before telling anyone else, and nothing will come of it from our side.
Connected accounts
Connecting a platform account authorises Lore to read the data described in the privacy policy, and nothing else. That authorisation can be withdrawn at any time, from Lore or from the platform. Those platforms have their own terms, and Lore cannot promise their APIs will keep working.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time, from settings or by writing to us. What happens to your data is set out in the privacy policy: unreachable immediately, deleted after thirty days.
An account may be suspended or closed for the conduct listed above. Except where the abuse is ongoing, you will be told why and given a chance to answer.
Were Lore ever to shut down, account holders would get at least thirty days' notice and a way to export what they had saved.
No warranty
Lore is provided as is. ArtMill does not promise it will be available without interruption, that it will capture everything, or that nothing will ever be lost — including, given what it is, the archive itself. Keep your own copies of anything that would hurt to lose.
To the extent the law allows, ArtMill's liability arising from your use of Lore is limited to what you have paid for it in the preceding twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and account holders are told by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Lore afterwards is how you accept the new version; if you would rather not, close the account.
The rest
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which ArtMill LLC is organised. If a court finds part of this unenforceable, the rest still stands.
